If you have foot warts, you will want to visit us at Foot Associates New York. A person can have one or many Riverdale warts that need to be removed.
When you come to our foot care practice with Riverdale warts, you will be seen by one of our expert podiatrists, either Dr. Tzvi Bar-David, Dr. Robert Fridman, or Dr. Stewart Kamen. A wart can appear as a small growth on your foot; it usually occurs when the skin is affected by a virus. A wart can develop anywhere on the foot, but it is usually found on the bottom side of the foot. Warts on the bottom of the feet are generally referred to as plantar warts. They commonly occur in children, teens, and in elderly patients. Plantar warts develop when a patient has direct contact with the human papilloma virus. This virus also causes warts on other parts of the body. A plantar wart will grow deep into the foot. This growth usually occurs over a period of time, and the wart will eventually become visibly larger. Sometimes warts cause a great deal of pain for the patient when they are walking or standing on the affected foot. Our foot doctor will determine exactly how they can best treat the wart. Sometimes treatment involves using acid compounds. A wart can also be surgically excised or burned off. At our practice, we often use a CryoPen, which is a form of cryotherapy to get rid of noninvasive warts. Cryotherapy is a freezing treatment. This type of treatment does not require any type of anesthesia, and can be completed in as little as 3 to 5 minutes. If you have a wart on your foot, you will want to come to our foot care practice to have it removed, as warts can spread.
